DISTRICT VII is the Old Jewish Quarter.
Along with a few synagogues, Kosher style bakeries and restaurants,
and the connecting courtyards with examples like ‘Gozsdu
udvar’, undoubtedly make this district an attractive district
within the ‘Nagykorut’.
DISTRICT VIII: (‘rakoczi’) This is the red light
district and efforts were made to legalise it here in Jozsefvarosk,
but also opposition to this is strong as well.
DISTRICT IX, (‘ferencvaros’) Has being transformed
from the working class area to a cool quarter with trendy bars and
hot café’s emerging on ‘Raday utca’.
DISTRICT XI use to be the post part of Buda and then the
residents moved out to the hills, but it still is an attractive
and rich area. It bends around the Gellert Hill and reaches over
to the border of the city. The main part of this district is in
and around Moricz Zsigmond korter and the Tech. University, which
look onto the Danube in between Szabadsag and Lagymanyosi bridges.
Hungarians music culture is at home in District XI.
DISTRICT XII leads to the Buda Hills and tranquility, which
is only a couple of minutes away from Mosckva ter. The highest hill
in Buda is Janoshegy and the views from it are spectacular with
also a chair lift to get a greater view of the city.
