Children love to be entertained as much as you yourself. The Varosliget
is an area where one can bring the children to and keep them entertained
for the day. Here is where the Zoo is located, there is also and
International Circus Festival as well as a brilliant Amusement Park
(Vidam Park). The lake inside this park is used for skating on in
the winter months and for boating during the warm summer season.
Lots of Museums in the city would keep the children so occupied
that there wouldn’t be a word out of them. The postal Museum
or the War History Museum would keep them interested for hours
as well as the interesting place called the Buda Castle Labyrinth,
which is an underground exhibition of Budapest’s early history.
If they eventually get bored to tears, drag them off to the Gellert
Hotel and Baths, where they have artificial waves in the larger
pool and the smaller paddling pool has lovely warm water.
After that why not persuade them to climb the hills by the Cog-
wheel Railway which brings you up to the top of the hill and you
can see some great scenery and then you can head off to the children’s
railway which is very funny as all the staff - from the signal
men to the train conductors are all children.
