The city of Budapest is easy to get around, once you remember where
the Danube River is, you can set your bearings so that you can’t
get lost here. So maybe starting to see the city from the banks
of the Danube would be the best option.
To see all the sights one can start out on the sightseeing tour
at Duna Korzo on the Pest side. This long walking stretch continues
pas the Inter- Continental Hotel and on towards the Chain Bridge.
From any where on the Corso you will have a splendid view of the
city. One can see Buda with its beautiful castle, the Gellert Hill
and lots more. The scenery definitely will take your breath away.
Then you can walk along the Korzo and have a coffee in one of
its nice café’s. Also one can jump on a no.2 tram
and also get a good view of the city. Anyway continue walking over
the Chain Bridge – Budapest’s famous bridge. From the
bridge one can see almost all the spectacular views - the Margaret
Island, the Parliament, the hills and Pest’s buildings.
The Danube runs through the city centre north – south direction,
with the east side being called Pest and the west side called Buda.
You will have no problem orientating yourself after the first hour
or two. It will all come natural to you after a while.
